Our friends, Ari, Scott and their children, live in a California Craftsman bungalow in the family friendly neighborhood of Claremont / Rockridge in North Oakland.  It’s a beautiful 1920’s home with original hardwood floors, handcrafted built-ins, and several period details.  After living in the home for many years, Scott wanted to change the location of the kitchen.  After calling us for appliance advice, he decided on a GE [JVM1950DRWW](http://www.designerappliances.com/ge-jvm1950drww.html) over-the-range microwave and GE [PGB940DEFWW ](http://www.designerappliances.com/ge-pgb940defww.html) gas range with 5 burners and  warming drawer feature.   Recently Scott told us –

“Our new kitchen has become the center of the house.  The decisions I made on appliances was vital to the renovation and getting our kitchen back in working order.  I was looking for appliances with a traditional look, modern conveniences and proven reliability.  We absolutely love our new GE range and microwave. Both are extremely intuitive. With the gas range, I wasn’t sure about the fifth long burner. We now totally get the long center burner after constantly using it with various casserole dishes, and more. The lower oven has also proven extremely useful with warming things, or just simply cooking something else.

The microwave over the range is bigger than our previous microwave, and more efficient and powerful. The settings for whatever vegetable you need to cook have been perfect. And it’s super roomy.”

We loved being part of Scott’s project and are very happy to hear how things turned out.
